Photographs of Martins Lookout, Springwood, in the Lower Blue Mountains of NSW

Martins Lookout is near Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains. By car you turn left off the Great Western Highway onto Macquarie Road go under the train bridge and around to the right then turn left onto Burns Road at the Primary School. Drive along Burns Road for about 800 metres then turn left onto Farm Road and drive about 800 metres. At the end of a small swing park you will find a dirt road which is Farm Road going off to the right. Drive about 1 kilometre to the end of the road; Martins Lookout is a short walk from the car park.

Martins Lookout is a popular place for hikers to go down into the valley along Glenbrook Creek or to Lost Worlds Lookout on the other side of the valley; it is great place to visit in the Lower Blue Mountains.

Photographing around Martins Lookout

This photograph was taken looking towards the south west in the late afternoon. The late afternoon is a great time to photograph because the sun gives the mountains highlights on the edge

This Photograph was taken a towards the setting sun about 20 metres to the north of Martins Lookout. I do enjoy the challenge of taking a photograph into the sun.

This photo was taken facing north east not long before the sun went down. The rocks in the foreground officially represent the place to stand and say I am at Martins Lookout.

This photo shows the type of trees native to the Blue Mountains and it also looks good with the light highlighting the edges.
